Integrated Power Services Acquires Excel Apparatus Services, Inc.

Leading industrial service provider broadens service coverage in the Southeast with addition of Charleston, SC full-service repair facility

(Greenville, SC — October 04, 2019) Integrated Power Services (IPS), the North American leader in service, repair and custom-engineered solutions for industrial electric motors, generators and mechanical power transmission components has acquired Excel Apparatus Services, Inc.

Founded in 1990, Excel Apparatus Services is an industrial and marine equipment repair company specializing in on-site and in-shop services for motors, pumps and switchgear. Excel is also an authorized distributor for many leading manufacturers of motors, controls, gearboxes and power transmission components. Excel has established relationships with companies in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

This is the seventh strategic acquisition by IPS since 2008, including the prior purchases of Electro-Mec, The Monarch Electric Group, TRICO TCWIND, Industrial Apparatus Service, KVA Dynamo/B+B Dynamo & Armature/King’s Electric Motors and the Industrial Repair Division of Higgins Electric. Terms were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, IPS now has twenty-nine service centers and field offices across the United States and Canada, offering coast-to-coast coverage and 24/7 reliability to over 5,000 customers across a wide range of Power Generation and process industries.
