Greenville, SC (November 17, 2023) – IPS, a leading provider of aftermarket electromechanical and power management applications in North America, has named Scott Smrdel as Senior Vice President – Engineering and Technical Innovation.
Scott joins IPS from Turntide Technologies, where he was Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering. Turntide engineers and manufactures high-efficiency electric motors and drives, power conversion hardware, energy storage solutions, and system-level electrification solutions for buildings and transportation.
Scott led a global Turntide team of 225 associates in engineering and project management, covering six domestic and international hubs. His career also includes working at BAE Systems as Senior Director of Engineering, at General Electric in senior engineering leadership, and as an engineering contractor with NASA.
In his new role at IPS, Scott will lead IPS engineering and its role in meeting customer challenges in power management, electromechanical equipment, and rotating equipment. He will also guide the company’s entry into the digital and automation solutions that customers increasingly use to drive their processes.

Scott’s education includes four degrees, including an MBA from Walsh University in Canton, OH, and an MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Cleveland State University in Cleveland.
