IPS opens wind field service facility in Sweetwater, TX

Leading industrial service provider’s new location will support growing Texas wind energy market

(Greenville, SC — May 8, 2018) — Integrated Power Services (IPS), the North American leader in the service, repair and distribution of electric motors, generators and mechanical power transmission components, has opened a wind field service facility in Sweetwater, TX.

The new location is the fourth IPS service facility in Texas (along with Houston, Beaumont and Corpus Christi) and the company’s 28h location in their North American network of service centers. Sweetwater will provide complete up-tower services for Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and New Mexico wind farms, including generator exchange.

IPS wind technicians have developed skills and technologies to keep more work inside the nacelle and eliminate crane costs — shaft repair and other machining, bearing change outs, slip ring replacements and rebuilds, rotor lead replacement and upgraded wye-ring replacements. Sweetwater offers the quality management, health safety & environmental, continuous improvement and customer service that deliver the IPS Unmatched Customer Experience (UCE).

“IPS is committed to the wind energy business and Texas produces more megawatts from wind than any other state in the union,” noted Mike Fulmer, IPS Vice President of Wind Operations. “Sweetwater gives us the ability to respond quickly to customer field service needs in Texas and surrounding states, backed by the resources of our coast-to-coast network.”
