IPS offers complete in-shop service, repair, rewinds, and remanufacturing for industrial AC & DC electric motors and generators. We handle assets weighing 145 tons and rated to 15 kV, small, fractional HP low-voltage units, and everything between:
The IPS North American network has multiple high-voltage service centers specializing in large and extra-large industrial AC & DC motors. We have over 1.6 million square feet of repair space, with 145-ton lift capacity, and VPI tanks coast to coast. We also have the industry’s largest VPI tanks, measuring 14 feet.
We test, repair, rewind, remanufacture, and reverse engineer large and extra-large electric motors and generators. Our comprehensive testing includes non-destructive testing, such as infrared thermography, and comprehensive electrical testing.
IPS technicians recalibrate test equipment after every use, to maintain diagnostic accuracy.
IPS in-shop repair also covers scheduled inspection and maintenance:
IPS tests in-shop for modal analysis, concentricity, hardness, vibration analysis, and balancing. We also provide dynamic balancing up to 80,000 lbs.
IPS offers proven solutions to mitigate electrical, thermal, mechanical, and environmental stress on stator windings. Our global VPI and B-stage hard coil rewinds come with industry-leading warranties.
We engineer for the application. IPS manufactures custom motors and can uprate legacy motors for more power or efficiency.
Our modification capabilities include:
We specialize in large power generators for wind, hydro, steam, diesel, natural gas, and biogas turbines.
IPS technicians know high-speed two-pole generators and multi-pole slow-speed generators.
Our in-shop generator repair specialists provide:
IPS works on exciter repair and overhaul for consistent voltage generation. We also handle high-voltage bushing change-outs, partial discharge capacitor installation, and air/hydrogen-cooled flux probe installation.
IPS runs dedicated small motor repair shops at service centers coast to coast. Our small motor repair specialists focus on low-voltage units up to 690 VAC:
These small motor repairs cost less than the purchase of a new motor and include an IPS warranty.
